What is Velocity Banking?
Velocity banking is a cash-flow management strategy designed to pay off debt and mortgages faster than the traditional way of getting out debt by making extra payments monthly. It works by channeling your monthly income through a line of credit (like a HELOC) to lower the daily average balance, thereby reducing interest, while periodically applying surplus funds toward the principal in the form of lump sum payments. This method of leveraging banking products along with good financial stewardship, discipline, accountability, and math can ultimately lead to better results.
Is Velocity Banking A Scam?
No it is not scam. Banks and credit unions provide the product and we the customer need to know how to properly use their products and follow the rules accordingly. What happens is there is misrepresentation of this strategy which can cause people to make mistakes or mathematical errors. What can also happen is people may sell high end programs for “Privileged Information” which is not privileged it is completely free and accessible to the public and there is nothing proprietary about this strategy.
Can This Strategy Work for me?
Yes and sometimes no. This strategy will not work 100% of the time for everyone I work with and that is ok. We first evaluate the numbers and your situation then make a determination on what is the best first steps for you to take to improve your money short term and long term.
Do I need to have good credit for this to work?
Yes. When you work with me before we implement a financial strategy that involves leveraging debt I want you to be positioned with the best credit score to access the best tools to save you money and get you out of debt faster.
